Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Saturday stated he individually cited Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen but didn't state that the Indian economist had linked Muhammad Yunus' role in covering the nation's image within the worldwide arena.
Muhith on Thursday had cited the Nobel laureate economist saying within the recent documents by Writer Swadesh Roy: "Amartya Sen stated a lot of (positive) situations are happening here (in Bangladesh), however the good deeds don't get publicised."

An argument, signed by Finance Ministry's Senior Information Officer Shahedur Rahman, with respect to the Finance Minister on Saturday stated, "The Minister on Thursday stated that Prof Yunus' negative position and campaigning was impeding to draw in direct foreign purchase of Bangladesh. Muhith's statement also reads, "The Finance Minister's comment was his personal and that he didn't discuss the problem with anybody. Amartya Sen also didn't make any discuss the problem. The Minister's statement involved Bangladesh's rapid development"

Saying everybody in Bangladesh was 'proud' for Yunus, Muhith within the statement stated, "The Nobel Laureate can also be highly recognised worldwide."
"Personally, I consider him like a friend along with a respected person and that i respect him for his dedication to get rid of poverty."
The statement stated Yunus' title was labeled using the remarks of Amartya Sen on Bangladesh's economy for any excuse. Additionally, it stated the Minister 'is apologising to Sen' for that 'distorted news reports' of Bangladesh media.
Muhith stated "Amartya Sen is really a well-wisher of Bangladesh and that he always highlights the accomplishments of Bangladesh worldwide."
Within the statement, the Finance Minister pointed out Yunus' contribution in various industries including founding Grameen Bank, getting rid of poverty, freedom of ladies.
He stated, "According to the Grameen Bank's own rules and rules, Yunus cannot contain the Controlling Director publish after reaching six decades old and Yunus was the one that developed and released these rules and rules."
"But Grameen Bank Board in 1999 hired him Controlling Director to have an indefinite period. This appointment was illegal. Bangladesh Bank stated and elevated the irregularity in 2001."
"But after neither the Grameen Bank Board nor any government required any strike the matter as Yunus would be a respected person."
Yunus was instructed to leave the Grameen Bank this past year following the central bank stated he'd violated retirement laws and regulations by neglecting to relinquish control at age 60. He then resigned after losing a number of lawsuits.
